Reflections from December 8, 2010

We begin to see the fury that God will unleash on the earth, and we are thankful for knowing the Lord have having the blessings of His salvation. We get a glimpse of the wrath to come by reading Revelation 8:13, "And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, 'Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angles who are about to sound.'"

At this point, four angels had already sounded their trumpet, and with each blast came increasingly more destruction to earth. As we see this story unfold, we'll be thankful that we are covered by the love of Christ and His protection. But, as Matthew Henry states in his commentary, "God will be known by the judgments that he executes; and he expects, when he comes to punish the world, the inhabitants thereof should tremble before him."

Blessings to all
