Reflections from December 7, 2010

Today is the 69th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, "a date which will live in infamy". We take a moment to honor those who died in this attack and to those who were and are today inspired by this event to serve and protect our country and all citizens. To you we say, Thank You!

Today we read of one who provides even greater protection and does this in a location that will never be attacked by an enemy. John writes in Revelation 7:16-17, "They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Today we know that shepherds care for and protect their flock, and how much more Jesus does for His. But when we're in Heaven, how much more we'll be protected by His love and His glory! Not only that, but God will forever stop our sorrows by wiping away tears from us. We'll not have the memory of our sorrows on earth, and be able to worship Him in His divine glory.

Blessings to all
