Jesus tells us what must first happen before the end of times in Matthew 24:14 where He says, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
No doubt the disciples in the early church could imagine the world as we know it today. But, His words ring true; the Gospel will be proclaimed throughout all lands such that everyone has heard of Jesus and has had the opportunity for salvation.
Proverbs 6:23 tells us, "For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life."
Solomon is telling us the great benefit we receive by following God's commandments. We are able to better see our way through life and stay on the right path through His instructions.
