Today we read in Hebrews 12:1-2, "...let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
With our eyes to the Heavens we need to run our race here on earth. We don't become so detached from our day-to-day life that it becomes irrelevant; on the other hand, we have the ability to help others run their race with a blessed outcome; to be with Jesus at the end. Our day-to-day life while we run this race is very relevant to God and should be to others by our actions and words. By having the comfort of the Holy Spirit, we can be a blessing to others that struggle with their race, perhaps falling down and needing help back up.
From Proverbs 17:28, "Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace, When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive."
There was once a movie I saw with Peter Sellers called "Being There". The character, Chance, is a gardner on a large estate and is "simple minded." When his employer dies, he has to leave for the first time. He doesn't say much at all, and because of that, everyone says what they want, and he'll say, "I like to watch" meaning he watches TV. But his comments are interpreted as profound and meaningful and he becomes one of the most respected "philosphers" of all time. Take a peek at this here:

This epitomizes what Solomon is saying. How powerful his words are, and think how much more when we have the wisdom of God buy yet don't go on and on with talking. Another way of saying this is from Abe Lincoln, "Better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
Blessings to all
