Today we read The Hall of Faithfulness and in Hebrews 11:1 it says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
I've always struggled with a lack of faith in people, in that they may say the Bible is "a good story" but there's nothing real about it. Those stories couldn't happen. That inevitably leads to another statement that they don't really have any type of faith in "a god." There is so much factual evidence in the Bible, I find it easy to have faith that the things not yet fulfilled will happen. My faith is also based on the evidence of what I see around me. The laws of nature are indisputable and they are a result of God's works, so I can have faith in future works of God. The actions of mankind are clearly in line with the prophesies of Jesus and the Prophets, so I have faith that what God says is in store for mankind will happen. I then find it very easy to have faith that I will be with God when I die, because I have already accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior and that He died for my sins so that I might be saved. That is my faith, and I have evidence of this thing I hope for.
From Proverbs 16:7 we read, "When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him."
I find this to be remarkable true. However, it should really surprise no one. When you have the calmness of God in your heart that comes from pleasing Him, it has a calming effect on everyone around you. The Holy Spirit does that for us and when people ask, why are you never nervous, or upset, or whatever; we can say it's because of God's presence in my life through His Holy Spirit. Hopefully, they'll want to know more. Let God's attitude fill your life and fill you with kindness and ease. It can be a witness to others.
Blessings to all
