Reflections from March 18, 2010

Today we finish Hebrews and read in Hebrews 13:15, "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."

This is a good reminder as the writer finishes his letter; to offer thanks to God for what He does for us on a daily basis. It's through God that we have our blessings, our bounty, our food, clothing and shelter. It's God that provides our family and the love we receive. It's God that provides the country we live in and the blessings we receive here.

Just stop during the day to thank Him for what He does for you, such as a great parking spot at a large venue. Thank you Lord.

In Proverbs 18:12 we read, "Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, And before honor is humility."

Another clear message. Haughtiness (blatant pride) leads to destruction. By maintaining a humble attitude, we'll keep our honor in place.

Blessings to all
