Today we learn of the heavenly hosts seated around God's throne worshipping Him and giving praise for two great gifts of creation and redemption. We read in Revelation 4:11, "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power, For you created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."
Believers today need to give thanks to God for both of these might acts. We also need to respond to these acts through our lives and work. Ideally, followers of Christ will strike a balance between these two, rather then choose one emphasis over another. After all, we have been called by God to obey two mandates: (1) to be good stewards of God's creation by exercising dominion over the earth and its resources and (2) to carry out Christ's mandate to make disciples of all peoples.
Let's not neglect one to only focus on the other and be obedient to God in both areas.
