Paul offers encouragement to the Church of Thessalonica and likewise to us by his prayer in 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13, "may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints."
Paul recognized in the Thessalonians, and we should see this in ourselves, that there is always room to grow in love towards others. This love should be towards those in the community, those we don't necessarily think about loving since it's always easy to love our family, and even our church family.
By establishing ourselves as blameless in holiness, we set ourselves apart from the world and its troubles and the sin that goes with it, and set ourselves close to God and His holiness.
Paul's prayer was important for the Thessalonians as it is for us today.
(1) He wanted to be with them, and Jesus wants to be with us.
(2) He wanted them to abound in love, and Jesus wants us to love as well.
(3) He wanted them to be established in true heart-holiness and Jesus wants to wash us pure in holiness also.
Be encouraged to follow after Jesus and by the words of Paul.
Blessings to all
