We learned from Peter what to do for non-believers by being good and showing honor to them. Today we learn how to relate to other believers where he writes in 1 Peter 3:8-9, "Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another, love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous, not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing."
Peter was well aware of the traits of humans and knew there would be times when we as Christian brothers and sisters, would have disagreements and maybe not even like one another. Those feelings can lead to harsh words and disagreements. Peter wants us to turn away from that, and show compassion toward one another. Sometimes we might need to walk in their shoes to understand why they are acting the way they do on some days. Events in life can weigh heavily on one's mind, and showing love and tenderness towards others usually goes way down on the priority list. So we need to be mindful of that and just return blessings to them, pray for them, and offer assistance if we can.
Blessings to all
