Today we finish Paul's epistles to the Corinthians and he reminds the members of the church that the power of God is with him. He writes, "For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we are also weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you."
Paul wants them to know that he has some powerful backing to be able to say what he does to the Corinthians, and that he intends to make use of the power that is within him. But the other thing is that he recognizes the weakness he also has. So his authority is not one that goes to his head, and he comes in as lord and ruler over this church, but that he only is able to use God's power that is in him in order to tell the church, in no uncertain terms, of where they are falling short of God's grace.
God grants this same authority to us and provides us with His power to help others. As long as we understand how we too are weak in Him, we'll be able to understand how to use the power of God toward others.
Blessings to all
