Reflections from April 27, 2010

Today we read in Matthew 17:20, "So Jesus said to them, 'Because of your unbelief, for assuredly, I say to you, if you have the faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.'"

This type of faith is lacking in today's world. As Jesus stated in vs. 21, it takes a lot of prayer and fasting. There is one pastor that preaches on this point, Joel Olsteen. He continuously sends a message of positive living, positive thinking and positive results. His message is contagious, and it helps you strive to be your best through God.

Continuous prayer for God's help in our daily matters helps enormously and we must be diligent in keeping up with them. We must remember to worship God in all that we do and have the faith and belief that we can move that mountain from here to there.

Proverbs 27:9 tells us, "Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by hearty counsel."

Wise words from trusted friends, whether it is a spouse, a son, a parent or close friend, are as fragrant as your favorite perfume when worn by your favorite person. Likewise, just as the wrong perfume on the wrong person is unpleasant, so is bad advice. We want to be far away from both. Let us surround ourselves with the sweet aroma of wise counsel.

Blessings to all
