No fooling! Today in James 4:7,8,10 we read, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you...Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up."
Submission in our lives is not a sign of weakness, but comes from a desire to have God in total control of our life. In fact, this leads to a strength that is based on God. The bible speaks of many areas in one's life where submission plays an important role including,
* To the Government
* To the Church
* To our co-workers
* To our spouse
* To Christ
Those who practice submission as God calls them to will find favor in God's eyes and receive the blessings that come with Christ's obedience; that is, for Christ to love us in the church, to become pure, to receive His nourishment and blessings.
If we are on our knees in submission to God, it will lead to repentance.
Proverbs 1:7 tells us, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction."
It all starts with a sound relationship with God, to seek and cherish Him and build a love for Him that never quits. Then we must seek His knowledge which He will give us because He loves us as a Father loves His son. As a father, my desire is to give my children instruction that will lead to their wisdom. How much more does God desire that for us? It is my daily prayer that bits and pieces of His Word will stay with me, and my life will become richer with His knowledge.
Blessings to all
