Today we read in Hebrews 2:9, "But we wee Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by grace of God, might taste death for everyone."
This confirms with no doubt how Jesus is place on His throne to be King of kings and Lord of lords having suffered a brutal death for the salvation, of me! That's the least that should happen, don't you think? Since Jesus was
* Made lower than angels
* Suffered human sufferings such as hunger, thirst, temptation, sorrow
* Had to put up with our frailties
* Dealt with disciples that didn't always listen
* Was lashed on by soldiers
* Was spit on by fellow countrymen
* Was tried in a monkey court
* Was hung on a cross with spikes through His hands and feet
* Died a brutal death
it is all very fitting that He is given this glory and honor and in every way we can, in every instance of life, with every breath we have, we should declare Jesus as our King of Kings and Lord of Lords giving Him the honor for everything that happens in our life.
From Proverbs 3:34 we have, "The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just."
This is reason enough for us to want to have our home follow God. When we allow our home to become full of strife, anger, and bitterness, I think God withholds blessings on us. But beyond that, it allows Satan to gain a foothold in our home, and that certainly leads to wickedness. The more we read the Bible, stay in prayer, and have a close personal relationship with God, the stronger we are to fight off Satan and the anger, strife and bitterness that can cause our blessings to diminish. I don't want to even think about what the Lord's curse might be...I only want His blessings.
Blessings to all
