Today in Galatians 2:20 it says, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
Paul tells all that we are no longer living by our old set of principles, it's through Christ that we live and therefore take up His principles. Since Christ lives in us, we live as Jesus does with His morals, principles, actions and faith. We've become Jesus in a sense and set aside the way of doing things before we lived for Christ.
In Proverbs 21:11, it tells us, "When the3 scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; But when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge."
Solomon points out once again the difference between a wise person and a scoffer receiving instruction and their view of that. A wise person learns something and becomes even wiser, while a simple person only gets a step-by-step means of accomplishing a task while really learning nothing.
On the same note, Proverbs 22:10 tells us, "Cast out the scoffer, and contention will leave; Yes strife and reproach will cease."
When you're in a group of people that contains a person that is always tearing down others and makes fun of any type of progress made, it really takes all enjoyment out of the efforts put into the activity. Every time someone comes up with a suggestion for making things better, this person "rains on the parade" with ridicule. Here in Proverbs, they're call a scoffer and Solomon advices leaders to remove them from the situation. This person is going beyond constructive criticism and takes delight in conflict for the sake of conflict. It's no fun to spend time with this person, so don't.
Blessings to all
