Reflections from September 23, 2010

We read Paul's words of moral leadership today in Titus 2:7-8 which says, "in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you."

The key here is a pattern of good works. We want to show moral leadership in all areas of our life; work, home, social areas, because leading by example is one of the best ways to show the gospel, and to show that Jesus is truly Lord of our life.

Confidence in your life and actions has an effect on people in that people look for a leader. They want to connect with someone, and when you have a pattern of good works, they may very well connect with you. Not only will people look to you for the task at hand, they tend to pattern their motives and values after the leader they are connected with.

We must be aware of how we are morally, spiritually, and verbally so we have the confidence in how others might follow us.

Blessings to all
