Reflections from August 18, 2010

Paul reminds us what the gospel is when he says in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, "...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."

This is the key, fundamental point of the Gospel; that Christ died for our sins thus releasing mankind from the Old Covenant, and that He was resurrected three days later. Without this, as Paul says, there is no Christian faith, all preaching about it is empty and our faith is empty and baseless. In other words, it becomes a nice fairy tale. But insurmountable evidence is there to show that Christ did live, worked His miracles, and that His death was recorded in history, not just the Bible, and there are over 500 people that saw Jesus after He was resurrected. God made sure that Jesus victory over death would not be a hidden secret because He knew that doubting people would need to see with their own eyes that Jesus lives, and that they can place their faith, hope and trust in the Lord.

We can do that as well. We have not only the written evidence of Jesus' resurrection, but evidence of God's manifestation in our daily lives, helping us and directing us to live a more peaceful life with God and Jesus at the center of our life. I trust that He has done this for you, but if not, pause now and give God thanks and turn your heart to Him as your Lord and Savior, placing trust in Him above all else.

Blessings to all
