Today in Philippians 3:20-21 we read, "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself."
Paul talks about how we may be residing on earth, but we our passport shows us as a citizen of Heaven. Some countries are easier to get into even if you aren't a citizen of that country such as The Netherlands, or Canada. Easy that is, if you happen to be a citizen of America. But other countries might not be so easy, and takes quite a bit of doing to gain entry such as China, or Venezuela. But Heaven is where we hold our citizenship from, it's the place where our passport has been issued. When we get there, Jesus will say Welcome Home rather than to say What business do you have here? And when our move to our place of permanent residence is complete, we be transformed to be like Christ with His power over all things even death. By residing in His glory, we will be conformed to His glory.
From Proverbs 16:16 we read today, "How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver."
Solomon may not have created the saying "A fool and his money are soon parted" but the man who did, Thomas Tusser in 1573, probably read Proverbs. How true both Solomon's proverb and the English proverb are, still to this day! We can achieve wealth through a variety of means, but without wisdom it will soon be gone, because we haven't done any type of planning for it. We need to understand life in the big picture, and the money side of things will work itself out under God's provisions. If we only understand how to get money, we'll miss out on finding out how God wants us to be in our life. If we strive for what God wants, He'll take care of us, just as He cares for the birds in the air.
Blessings to all
