I was out of town at a hotel with a very bad internet connection so I had to write this down on paper the old fashioned way! But I knew (and believed) that I would be able to get it posted soon.
Matthew 21:22 tells us, "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will received."
Jesus again reminds us of our need to have strong faith in God. We can do all things through Him that gives us strength. I certainly need to spend more time in prayer and I hope that will come naturally to me as I continue spending time with the Lord everyday. This is my request to God.
Proverbs 1:8-9 says, "My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother. For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, And chains about your neck."
How often is it that when a son reaches a certain age, about 18 or so, they suddenly have the most brilliant mind in the history of the world? No amount of advice or counsel can penetrate the stubbornness of his belief that he knows best. However Solomon tells us not to forsake the guidance from our parents and it will serve us well, even protect us from harm.
In Proverbs 2:20 we read, "So you may walk in the way of goodness, And keep to the paths of righteousness."
This passage of Proverbs, chapter 2, versus 10 through 22, is telling how wisdom will protect us from evil. But here in verse 20, it sort of tells us a reward we receive for applying wisdom in our life. We can learn almost anything, but it's not until we apply it that it becomes a part of our lives.
Blessings to all
