Today as we read of Paul defending himself in front of King Agrippa we see in Acts 26:28 Agrippa says, "You almost persuade me to become a Christian."
It's interesting to me how these simple words that I find a fascinating tidbit of history invoke such an emotional response. Simply by listening to Paul defend himself as to why he believes in the resurrection, the King came oh so close to achieving everlasting life with our Lord and Savior. But no doubt pride got in his way for how can such an important man who rules over thousands be bothered with the beliefs of a simple Christian such as Paul? If only Agrippa had taken the time to pursue Paul's words and seek for himself as to whether or not what Paul spoke was true. Of course he would see that it is, and as such, be completely convinced that following Jesus is the only way.
In our life, we should make sure that when we speak of our Lord, let's not leave the job until they are convinced of Jesus. With God having given us free will to choose, people will either choose Jesus or not. When they choose Jesus, let's rejoice with them. When they don't, Jesus tells us to shake the dust from our sandals and move on to the next town.
From Proverbs 25:21-22 we read, "If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you."
Solomon simply tells us to show mercy and kindness to everyone, even those we consider our "enemy" and don't feel like showing kindness to. When doing these acts of kindness, our hardened hearts typically become tender, and they no longer become our enemy which is what God wants for us.
Blessings to all
